Policies

Enrollment in the studio is an agreement to observe the following policies:

  • Make-up Policy: Each student taking private lessons may have one make-up at the end of the studio year. This make-up may be for any reason, including funerals, illnesses, school concerts or events, traffic jams, accidents—or any other reason. Prior notice for missed lessons is appreciated.
  • Arrive on time for all lessons.
  • Enter the home quietly.
  • No siblings or friends attend lessons, nor do they wait outside the house.
  • Parents refrain from commenting during lessons. If you have a question, please ask at the beginning of the lesson so as not to take time from the next student.
  • No gum or snacks in the studio.
  • No discounts if students miss lessons during the year.
  • If you have questions or concerns, please contact your teacher by email. Most questions concerning student lesson instruction will be answered at the next lesson.
  • Students must consistently practice five hours weekly. Six hours is preferable. Parents sign a contract that they understand this policy and sign a practice chart verifying the practice on a weekly basis. Students who do not maintain the five-hours of weekly practice are on probation for two weeks before leaving the studio.
  • Mrs. Hadfield semi-retired in 2019. She will schedule a term or more at a time, but may adjust the schedule.
